Key Dates for Dillon Town Council Candidates in the April 7, 2026 Municipal Election

The regular 2026 Municipal Election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Voters located within Dillon town limits will elect one Mayor and three Town Council members during this election. Residents who have resided within Dillon town limits for one year and are 18 years of age or older are eligible to run for Town Council in Dillon. This excludes unincorporated areas near Dillon such as, but not limited to, Dillon Valley, Summerwood and Summit Cove. Residents who are interested in becoming a candidate for Mayor or Town Council are encouraged to attend the informational session hosted by the Town Clerks of Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, Keystone, and Silverthorne on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 5 p.m.

How to Run for Office 101: Running for Municipal Office

Date: Thursday, December 11, 2025

Time: 5 p.m.

Location: Keystone Town Hall | 1628 Saints John Road | Keystone, CO

The Municipal Candidate Forum is for anyone exploring the idea of running for Town Council in Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, Keystone or Silverthorne. Walk through the qualifications, filing requirements, timelines, and key responsibilities involved in becoming a candidate. Attendees will leave with a solid understanding of what's required, what to expect, and how to confidently take the next steps toward running for office.

Candidate Petition Kick Off

Date: Tuesday, January 6, 2026

Time: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Location: Dillon Town Hall | 275 Lake Dillon Dr | Dillon, CO

Candidate petitions and packets will be available for in-person pickup only, during business hours, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Dillon Town Hall. Candidate packets include a candidate calendar with deadlines, the petition with lines for signatures, and campaign finance materials. Petitions and packets cannot be digitalized, photocopied, or reproduced in any way. Each candidate must gather 25 valid signatures from active registered voters who reside within Dillon town limits. Municipal elections are non-partisan, meaning political parties are not a factor regarding petitions or ballots. Candidates will have over two weeks to circulate their petitions and must return all materials by Monday, January 26, 2026 at 5 p.m.

 

Dillon Town Council Candidate Forum

Date: Tuesday, March 10, 2026

Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Location: Dillon Town Hall | Council Chambers | 275 Lake Dillon Dr | Dillon, CO

The Dillon Town Council candidate forum will be moderated by Phil Lindeman, with a mix of formal questions, followed by the opportunity for the public to ask the candidates their own questions.

 

Ballots Mailed

Date: Monday, March 16, 2026

Ballots will be mailed on Monday, March 16, 2026. Dillon residents located within Town limits should receive their mailed ballot later that same week. Colorado voter registration may be updated at GoVoteColorado.com.  Individuals with questions regarding their ballot or who need to request a replacement ballot, should contact Adrienne Stuckey, Dillon Town Clerk, at astuckey@townofdillon.com  or by calling 970-262-3407.

 

Voting Deadline

Date: Tuesday, April 7, 2026

Time: 7 p.m.

This is a Mail Ballot election only. There is no in-person voting for the Dillon municipal election. Registered voters will have until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to drop their ballots off in-person at the 24-hour secure drop box, located outside of Dillon Town Hall. Voters may also mail in their ballots via the United States Postal Service or Fed Ex/UPS. Ballots, whether mailed and dropped off, must be in the physical possession of the Dillon Town Clerk by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 to be counted.
