The Town of Dillon is pleased to welcome Diane Perrigo-Hicks to the Planning and Zoning Committee. A longtime local with strong ties to the community, Diane brings both professional experience and a deep personal investment in Dillon’s future.
Diane’s connection to Dillon goes back to 1976, when her family first moved to town. A Summit High School graduate and residential property owner since 2005, she stays engaged with local issues and civic life. Her decision to serve is rooted in her love for Dillon and her desire to support the wellbeing of the community she has long called home.
Her background closely aligns with the work of the committee. Diane has experience in property management, property maintenance, security systems, and survey work. She also served for more than 10 years on her homeowners association board, including four years as president. This experience gives her a practical understanding of both development projects and community needs.
Diane is especially passionate about thoughtful future development in Dillon. She hopes to see more businesses in the Town Core, improved walkability, and clearer directional signage to help define and energize the town center. She envisions inviting gathering spaces with seating, fire pits, and possibly food trucks, alongside tasteful development that includes affordable housing. Environmental values are also important to her, including Dark Sky principles and renewable energy.
In her role on the committee, Diane sees her responsibility as reviewing projects to ensure they comply with town, county, and state codes and ordinances. Her goal is to help applicants understand requirements and make adjustments when needed, not to promote a personal agenda.
What Diane enjoys most about Dillon is its small-town character. She values the quiet, down-to-earth nature of the community and its lack of glitz or glamour.
As she begins her term, Diane acknowledges she is still learning but is eager to listen, grow, and serve. With the time now available to give back, she looks forward to being part of the collective effort that helps shape Dillon’s future.
