The Town of Dillon will conduct a Regular Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, by mail ballot to elect a Mayor and three Town Council Members and to consider proposed amendments to the Dillon Home Rule Charter.
All active registered voters in the Town of Dillon will receive a ballot by mail at the mailing or residential address listed on their voter registration record. Ballots will be mailed to eligible voters during the week of March 16, 2026.
To be eligible to vote in this election, a voter must be:

At least 18 years of age,

A citizen of the United States,
-
A resident of the State of Colorado for at least 22 days preceding the election, and
-
Registered to vote on or before Election Day.
Completed ballots must be received by the Dillon Town Clerk’s Office no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day, April 7, 2026. Ballots may be returned by U.S. mail or hand delivered to the designated ballot drop-off location.
The Town of Dillon will host a Candidate Forum to provide voters an opportunity to hear directly from those running for office. The forum will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at Dillon Town Hall and will be open to the public. The candidate forum will be co-moderated by Phil Lindeman with Krystal 93 and Andrew Maciejewski with Summit Daily News. The forum will be a mix of formal questions, followed by the opportunity for the public to ask the candidates their own questions.

In addition to the candidate races, voters will be asked to consider the following proposed amendments to the Dillon Home Rule Charter:
Meeting Schedule Flexibility
Shall the Charter be amended to remove the requirement that Town Council must meet at least twice each month, allowing greater flexibility in scheduling?
Official Posting Location
Shall the Charter be amended to designate the Town’s website as the official location for all postings and publications required by the Charter and Dillon Municipal Code?
Appropriations by Resolution
Shall the Charter be amended to allow appropriations to occur by resolution rather than ordinance to align with the Town’s budget adoption process?
Leases of Town Property
Shall the Charter be amended to allow leases of Town property to occur by resolution rather than ordinance?
Utility Rate Setting
Shall the Charter be amended to allow the fixing of rates charged by any municipal utility system to occur by resolution rather than ordinance?
Private Property Limitations
Shall the Charter be amended to allow acts placing a direct burden upon or direct limitation on the use of private property to occur by resolution rather than ordinance?
Updates to Outdated Charter Provisions
Shall the Charter, adopted in 1993, be amended to modify outdated provisions and bring the language into compliance with state law, including:
- Extending the time to complete the annual audit from within four (4) months to within six (6) months after the close of the fiscal year, unless an extension is authorized;
- Removing the four-year delay on implementing TABOR, which has already passed; and
- Correcting outdated language related to levying taxes for improvement districts without an election.
