Dedicated Pickleball Courts Coming to Town Park 

April 1 to late summer (Weather Permitting)

Town of Dillon is excited to announce a great addition to our community: eight brand-new dedicated pickleball courts, set to open in the summer of 2026.

As one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, pickleball has captured the enthusiasm of players of all ages and skill levels—and Dillon is ready to meet that momentum. This new construction project reflects the Town’s commitment to expanding recreational opportunities, enhancing community wellness, and creating vibrant spaces where residents and visitors can connect. With growing interest in pickleball across the region, these courts will help position Dillon as a premier destination for the sport.

Water Main Construction - Corinthian Hill 

COMPLETED 

Town staff has previously recommended to the Dillon Town Council that the Town should proactively replace the existing 12” water main between the Corinthian Hill water tank and the 8” water main in Ensign Drive. The existing water main was constructed in the late 70s, and it is old enough to warrant replacement because of its important role in the water system.

To accommodate the installation of this water main, the Town Purchased the vacant property at 293 Ensign Drive (Lot 6, Block 3) in order to create a 40’ wide permanent water main easement between the Ensign Drive Right-of-Way and the Corinthian Hill water tank parcel known as Tract A of the Corinthian Hill Subdivision.

The existing water main is on the property line within an existing 20’ utility easement, which is too small to reconstruct a 9’ deep water main and meet OSHA trenching requirements.

The scope of work includes the installation of 260 lineal feet of 12” Ductile Iron Waterline and the installation of mechanically restrained joints, tees, elbows and valves, removal and replacement of concrete and asphalt within Ensign Drive, minor onsite grading, importing topsoil and reseeding disturbed areas, and the removal of excess materials by truck. 

Town Park Plaza Paving 

COMPLETED 

The Town of Dillon is set to improve the farmers market plaza area between the LaBonte and Buffalo Street parking lots in the southeast corner of Town Park. This project will include hardscaping the plaza area with concrete, landscaping, and building a new bathroom + storage building to support activities and events in the Dillon Town Park.

The construction set for the building and adjacent work won’t go out to bid until the third quarter of 2026, so the project would not be completed until June of 2027.

Town staff believes it would be beneficial for the community to go ahead and complete a majority of the concrete plaza in May of 2026 so the market attendees won’t have to walk on the loose gravel surface that presently exist this summer. Columbine Hills Construction had an opening in their May 2026 concrete schedule to complete this plaza work in May 2026. 

The Scope of Work includes:

• Removing the existing gravel/millings surface down to a depth of 10”.

• Potholing of Utilities in the project area to verify actual utility depths.

• Installing conduits for future irrigation lines, electrical and other items.

• Importing and spreading 4” layer of road base beneath the new plaza area.

• Pouring a 6” concrete plaza with colored concrete and saw cutting the joints. 

The Town of Dillon announces a temporary road closure on West LaBonte Street near Three Rivers Street. The closure is planned for a two-day period between Monday, June 8, and Thursday, June  11, weather permitting.

During the closure, inbound traffic from Dam Road will be detoured onto Lodgepole Street to access Lake Dillon Drive. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time while work is underway.
