Economic Development Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the Dillon Town Council regarding all aspects of the Town’s commercial development, with a goal to enhance the Town’s economic health now and into the future. EDAC meets the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

The duties and responsibilities of the Economic Development Advisory Committee are:

  1. To act as an advisory body to the Town Council on economic development planning, policies, and actions.
  2. To establish goals that reflect the Town’s mission as it relates to business development and retention.
  3. To determine the Town’s areas of potential and continuing competitive advantage.
  4. To forge a supportive partnership with local organizations that are involved in economic development.
  5. To recommend marketing strategies that will showcase the Town and support its long-term commercial vitality.

The Committee shall consist of seven (7) at-large persons appointed by the Town Council, one member of the Town Council, and one member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Initially, four (4) members shall be appointed for terms of two (2) years and three members shall be appointed for terms of one (1) year. The Town Council shall make subsequent appointments for two-year terms. At a minimum, a majority of the at-large membership shall consist of individuals who have business interests in the Town. Members of the committee are not required to be residents of the Town of Dillon.

On July 22nd 2025 the Dillon Town Council appointed 7 members to the Economic Development Advisory Committee. Council appointed Rachel Tuyn to be their representative. The Planning and Zoning Commission appointed Alison Johnston to be their representative.
